Linda Walker of Dickinson Dees, who is an expert in the area of Equality Impact Assessments will deliver this training for free on 15th March 2012 in Kendal Town Hall from 1pm to 4pm. CPD points will apply to this event, The event will be a joint training event between SLDC, Cumbria County Councils, Cumbria Constabulary and Carlisle City and the Solicitors in Local Government Group, Northern Branch and opened up to the other branches of SLG and to the North West Legal Consortium in order to maximise attendance.
Linda has written an article most recently in the Lawyer on the impact of the Birmingham case and will present training on how to avoid challenges under the Equalities Act, the impact of the Birmingham case and any other recent relevant case law relating to Equality Impact Assessments together with things to think about as a result of recent case law in terms of completing equality impact assessments with respect to different Council service areas.
