We are looking for a highly motivated lawyer to join a small team of lawyers dealing with a range of Adult Social Care matters including adult safeguarding, deprivation of liberty cases, applications to the Court of Protection, the Care Act 2014, social care debt and finance, coroner’s inquest work and mental health law.

This is a busy and supportive team, which also deals with education law and the role is a challenging and rewarding one. We are looking for a qualified Solicitor or Barrister who has sound knowledge in Adult Social Care law, who can work well under pressure and has excellent organisational skills. An ability and willingness to transfer your legal skills, if required, to areas of the team’s work that are not currently within your expertise is essential, particularly in relation to education law.

Public sector experience is desirable. Day to day responsibilities include managing a caseload and providing advice and support to the local authority, primarily on Adult Social Care but if necessary, on a full range of the team’s work.

You will have good communication and presentation skills, good customer care skills and good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Hours of Work: 3 days per week (22.2 hours) Part time.
