Brighter Future

We are seeking an Assistant Lawyer to work within the Adults Team (Legal Services). The role will provide legal and procedural advice and services in the most effective and efficient way to meet the requirements of the Council as a whole and specific Services and Departments.

We are looking for an Assistant Lawyer with working knowledge of key education and/or adult social care legislation. Previous experience of working in a local authority is advantageous but not essential. The successful candidate will have their own case load under the supervision of the Principal Lawyer Adults& Education and will be able to develop their existing legal skills and knowledge within a supportive and collaborative environment .

Ideally the person will have experience in working in a similar role in a local authority and will be able to work effectively in a team as well as being able to work independently with strong organisational skills taking responsibility for their work, being able to prioritise, think creatively, and be thinking of better ways to meet deadlines and the client’s expectations.
