This intermediate level session will look at developments in relation to data protection law over the past twelve months including data transfers, recording Covid status and vaccination checks, the Children’s Code and the ICO’s ongoing regulatory approach during the pandemic. We’ll also take a look forward at proposed changes under the UK government’s data protection consultation and the ICO’s review of the Employment Practices Code.

Lowri Phillips, Partner

Lowri is a Partner in the Employment Department with over 20 years’ knowledge and hands-on experience of all aspects of employment law. Lowri is also a renowned expert in information law and has trained clients and fellow practitioners on compliance with the GDPR. Lowri advises on all aspects data protection compliance, which includes dealing with employee data breaches and complex subject access requests from employees.

Helen Snow, Partner

Helen is a Partner with 15 years’ employment experience covering all aspects of employment law, both contentious and non-contentious for private, public and third sector organisations. Helen also has expertise in Information Law, advising clients on Data Protection, Freedom of Information and Environmental Information legislation.
