About Us:
Everyone who works for the Council probably deals with information, in some form, as part of their job. As a council we have to manage information properly to meet our business needs and the needs of our customers, particularly where the data we are handling is personal data.
The Corporate Information Governance Team supports this through managing access to information requests for the Council. This includes Data Subject Access Requests, as well as other information requests, such as Freedom of Information, Environmental Information Regulation, third party and access to deceased records.
We also lead on developing practical Council wide information governance solutions through the development of effective information governance policies and procedures. The team has also developed a rich Information Governance education and awareness programme across the Council that supports staff around managing information appropriately. The Access to Information officer role will play a key part in contributing towards this work.
