We are expanding our in-house Legal Service to build a team with the right people and the right structure that allows us to respond to the innovation, improvement and growth around us and provide an excellent legal service to the Council and our communities. We are interested in recruiting bright, committed lawyers and providing them with the environment to be as good as they can be.

Assistant Lawyer/Lawyer (Adults/Safeguarding)

We are looking for candidates with experience of providing legal advice relating to adult social care issues. Enthusiasm and commitment to this area of law is essential and training can be provided to the right candidate to increase knowledge and proficiency.

Ideally candidates will have some experience of providing legal advice relating to [adult social / child care care issues]. However, previous experience is not essential, but enthusiasm and commitment to this area of law is vital. Training and support will be provided to the right candidate to develop knowledge and proficiency. You will have good communication and IT skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a busy team of solicitors and legal assistants.

You will be confident in managing a full caseload of court proceedings and advice matters. You will have the ability to work well under pressure and to manage a busy workload to tight deadlines.

The successful candidate must be a qualified solicitor or barrister.

This position will initially, in line with current government guidance be based from home.  In future, the Council will be moving to a hybrid of working arrangements for many of our roles with a combination of homeworking, office and site working as required.
