Brighter Future

We are seeking 2 Assistant Lawyers to work within the Planning & Highways Team (Legal Services). These roles will provide legal and procedural advice and services in the most effective and efficient way to meet the requirements of the Council as a whole and specific Services and Departments.

The successful candidate will predominantly be working on Highway law matters, supporting the wider team but also running a full caseload of files including drafting s.38, s.278 advising on the Highways Act 1980; dealing with (Temporary) Traffic Regulation Orders; reviewing Officer Decision Records and general advice to the client department on Highway Law and on flood/water management.  The successful candidate will also support the wider team on a range of planning law matters including enforcement work. Experience gained in a Local Authority setting would assist but is not essential.
