Commercial and Projects Lawyer

Salary: £37,600 – £41,091

Since being created in 2014 and becoming a Mayoral Combined Authority in 2017 the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority has grown exponentially.

Job Role

You will be a qualified solicitor, barrister or CILEX with some post qualification commercial experience to undertake the role of Commercial & Projects Lawyer.

The successful candidate will be responsible for advising upon, drafting and negotiating legal agreements for the LCRCA and Merseytravel, the Executive Body of the LCRCA and Passenger Transport Executive.

Examples of the types of projects both postholders will have exposure to and be required to advise on include:

  • Purchase of new trains for the Merseyrail network
  • Housing First Pilot Scheme
  • Community Environment Fund
  • Devolution of the Adult Education Budget
  • Civil and structural engineering works across the City Region
  • Various grant funding arrangements across the City Region
