Your Role

Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) is seeking a qualified construction lawyer with between 6-9 years post-qualification experience to assist in the delivery of large scale and high-profile transport projects such as the Bee Network, Bus Franchising, Northern Powerhouse Rail/Network North the Metrolink renewal and enhancement programme, TfGM’s future infrastructure programmes and Facilities Management. Who are we?

Joining our large and supportive in-house legal team who cover a number of different areas of expertise, you will ultimately be providing legal services to the Organisation in accordance with policy and organisational requirements and dependent on your level of experience you will support or lead on the negotiating and drafting of construction documentation (including NEC 3 and NEC4) as well as ensuring that risks, as a result of construction elements of transactions, are recognised and managed accordingly.

What you’ll bring

You will be a non-contentious construction solicitor/Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives with experience in the construction law field (preferably in a public sector environment but this is not essential). This role will require substantial and demonstrable post qualification experience in construction matters and experience in NEC construction contracts.

You will have commercial acumen and proven experience of undertaking construction matters with between 6-9 years post-qualification experience. You will also have the ability to engage with private and public sector partners to secure efficient delivery of Greater Manchester’s ambitious transport and infrastructure projects and initiatives.
