We are looking for an experienced General Local Government Lawyer to join our busy Legal Department. The legal department has a progressive outlook with a “can-do” approach. You will report directly to the Deputy Chief Legal Officer and will be expected to work to the highest level.
You will be dealing with all aspects of local government law. In particular you must have extensive knowledge and experience of either drafting a wide range of documents including policies, procedures, non-standard contracts and SLAs and/or dealing with ASB/Housing related litigation. We will provide support and training if your experience if your strength lies in one area. You must have the ability and willingness to assist on other areas covered by the team and attend Court. It is essential that you have good interpersonal skills, are able to plan and organise your own workload with minimal supervision in a supportive environment and that you are able to work to tight deadlines whilst fulfilling quality and service standards. You will be a strong team player, flexible, enthusiastic and committed. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to progress their career in Local Government.
The successful candidate will be part of a team which is based in an award winning office accommodation in the town centre which is currently undergoing multi-million pound regeneration together with agile working. Agile working opportunity is available subject to business need.
