We are looking for an exceptional, experienced and innovative individual to provide strategic leadership and management of the Council’s Companies Compliance and Assurance functions and responsibilities, including health and safety, compliance projects, information governance, data protection, internal audit, fraud, business continuity, risk management, and the shareholder function of the Council’s portfolio of companies.

This role also includes being the Council’s SIRO and statutory duties in relation to requests for information and management of the Council’s approach to customer compliments and complaints, MP and Councillor casework ensuring we are an organisation that puts residents at the heart of all we do.
The role Head of Companies, Compliance and Assurance will enable the right candidate to develop effective relationships and strong networks across the Council to explore and optimise the opportunity for innovation and development. The successful candidate will enhance the profile and capacity of Corporate Services and ensure the Council is safe, well managed and has a strong ethical culture.
Above all, we are looking for a real self-starter and leader who has the credibility, creativity, experience, and authority to support the Council’s ambitious agenda and constructively challenge and advise to protect the interests of the Council.

The contractual work location for this role is Ellesmere Port, however you may be required to work from a range of work locations or sites within the Borough and may also be required to work from home, depending on the needs of the service.
