We are looking for an experienced legal assistant or Paralegal to support the Council’s finance team in relation to Adult Social Care Debt Recovery matters. Previous experience of working in a local authority is advantageous but not essential.

The successful candidate will have knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules and ideally, have had some experience of advocacy. The person will have their own case load under supervision of the Legal Team Manager Adults &Education. Duties may include preparing debt recovery cases for Adult Social Care, drafting legal documents, applications to the County Court, drafting agreements, witness statements, preparing brief to counsel  (where necessary).

Ideally, the successful candidate will have had experience in working in a similar role in a local authority and be able to work effectively in a team, as well as being able to work independently, with strong organisational skills.
