The successful candidate will be a solicitor, barrister or fellow legal executive with a minimum of 2 -year pqe, working for a planning authority and will be able to provide accurate, practical and timely legal advice with minimum supervision and the ability to manage other environmental lawyers and officers.

The main duties will be: managing a team of planning, and highway lawyers and officers, providing planning and highways advice; drafting and completing a range of planning and highway agreements; attend planning appeals and inquiries; advising on reports and attend Planning or other Committees; attending meetings and advising officers, members and Directors. You will also need to carry out legal research and support the legal managers and the Director of Governance.


We offer flexi working hours and ability to work from home but also work from our brand new offices, when required. We provide training to support continuing professional development.

The contractual work location for this role is Ellesmere Port however you may be required to work from a range of work locations or sites within the Borough and may also be required to work from home, depending on the needs of the service.
