About the role:

Now is a great time to join Rochdale Council as planning lawyer and play a pivotal role in helping us to deliver our exciting growth agenda including initiatives such as Atom Valley, town centre masterplans and applications for major development projects.

As our planning lawyer, you’ll have the opportunity to work closely with colleagues across the professional sectors in planning, highways and legal and be an integral team member supporting the teams at they work to determine a wide variety of planning applications and deliver a broad range of development and highway related projects.

The role will therefore include providing advice on major development projects at the various planning stages, planning permissions and conditions, counsel instructions and legal matters around highways and public rights of way and include preparing s106 legal agreements. You’ll also be an integral member of the team at various committee meetings and undertake advocacy as required.

About you:

As a lawyer with planning experience, we are also looking for team player who enjoys working across the professional sectors and recognises the value the role can play in supporting our growth agenda.

The successful candidate will be based in our award winning office accommodation in the heart of Rochdale town centre which has recently undergone multi-million pound regeneration. Our offices are also in close proximity to the transport interchange providing easy access to Metrolink and wide variety of bus services.
