An opportunity has arisen for a Property and Commercial Lawyer to join Legal Services at Burnley Council.

Working within a small team you will conduct and manage a wide range of property – related work including sales and purchases of land, compulsory purchase orders, landlord and tenant matters, regeneration projects as well as advising upon and drafting commercial contracts and agreements.

The successful candidate must have post-qualification experience in both property and contracts and an ability to manage a varied and complex caseload.  Applications from candidates with a specialism in either property or contracts will be considered, as training and support will be offered to develop your skills.

The successful candidate must also be self-disciplined and organised and be able to work effectively without supervision.

The successful candidate must be a Solicitor, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives or a Licensed Conveyancer.

Burnley is situated in Pennine Lancashire with its compact urban area stretching along the two river valleys of the Brun and Calder.  It has a thriving town centre and is surrounded by attractive countryside. Burnley has excellent transport links around the region including a direct train line to Manchester.
