Job Role
You will need to be a qualified solicitor, barrister or CILEX to undertake the role of Senior Commercial & Projects Lawyer.
The successful candidate will be responsible for advising upon, drafting and negotiating complex legal agreements for the LCRCA and Merseytravel, the Executive Body of the LCRCA and Passenger Transport Executive.
You will be a qualified solicitor, barrister or CILEX with broad post qualification commercial experience. Ideally you will also have some leadership and/or management experience.
Examples of the types of projects the postholder will have exposure to and be required to advise on include:
- Purchase of new trains for the Merseyrail network
- Housing First Pilot Scheme
- Community Environment Fund
- Devolution of the Adult Education Budget
- Civil and structural engineering works across the City Region
- Various grant funding arrangements across the City Region

We work a 35 hour week with flexible working allowing you the flexibility to start and end your working day at various times.
