We are seeking a Senior Lawyer to work within the Contracts & Procurement Team (Legal Services). This role will provide legal and procedural advice and services in the most effective and efficient way to meet the requirements of the Council as a whole and specific Services and Departments.
The successful candidate will be able to provide commercial and contract advice in relation to Framework Agreements and Call-Off contracts, Supply and Services term contracts (high value and complex), Grant Funding Agreements (grants to Schools and Private Sector projects, Collaboration Agreements / MOUs, IT agreements. They will provide advice on procurement law and potential challenges. They will have a good working knowledge of company law and local authority trading models. They will be asked to advise on and review reports. A sound understanding of the role of lawyers in a local government setting and risk based decision making would assist, as would an understanding of local government and administrative law. They may be asked to take on challenges not currently within their field of expertise, and to provide training to clients and stakeholders from time to time.
