Senior Lawyer (Environment)

Grade 13 £37,890 to £39,880

Bury Council is looking for a qualified solicitor, barrister or Ilex Fellow to join its Lexcel Accredited Legal Services Team, to join the Council’s Environment Legal Team to assist in undertaking the effective execution of legal work arising out of the various Departments of the Council service providers or its Committees with its emphasis on land and property issues. Your hours of work will be 37 hours per week.

You should have substantial current and comprehensive knowledge and experience of development and property transactions, related highways and planning law and be able to demonstrate an ability to advise generally on matters connected therewith.  Previous experience of advising in Committee and knowledge of local authority governance would also be an advantage.

Appointment is subject to a satisfactory enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
