Senior Litigation Solicitor/ Team Leader
Salary/Grade 10 £42,821 – £46,845 per annum

We are looking for a highly experienced Litigation Lawyer to join our busy Legal Department. You will deliver expert legal advice and support to client departments reporting directly to the Head of Legal. You will be expected to work on the more interesting, complex and involved matters in respect of both civil and criminal litigation with minimal supervision. You will be a team player building excellent relationships within Legal Services and client departments
You will be dealing with a wide variety of litigation matters covering all aspects of the Council’s areas of responsibility. You must have extensive knowledge and significant experience of drafting a wide range of pleadings and all associated documentation in respect of both civil and criminal proceedings at all levels. You must be willing to attend all manner of Court and Tribunal hearings and be a capable and confident advocate and a “safe pair of hands” for the Council. You must have the ability and willingness to assist in other areas covered by the Litigation and wider Legal Services team. You will need to demonstrate professionalism in addition to excellent communication and drafting skills. You must be able to work to tight deadlines whilst fulfilling quality and service standards.
You will provide a visible supportive and active role in the management of the Litigation Team. You will be a strong team leader with a flexible, enthusiastic and positive approach providing motivation and encouragement.
