Senior Solicitor

Salary: £40,478 to £41,495 per annum

Hours/Working pattern: 36.25 hours per week permanent contract

We are looking for an enthusiastic Legal Officer to join our Legal team who is committed to the development of a positive, professional, forward looking and customer focused service.

This is an excellent chance for a lawyer to develop and broaden their professional skills. The Legal Team advises on all legal issues affecting two councils. You would be expected to help out with a variety of work. In particular we would be looking for a candidate with extensive professional experience in one of the following areas:

• Commercial Property/Estates work
• Regulatory – in particular Planning and Licensing

You should be enthusiastic and confident with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Local government experience is preferred but not essential, but you should have a flexible approach and be able to deliver in a busy and challenging environment.

About you

You will be a qualified Solicitor or Barrister or a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives with substantial relevant experience and knowledge

You will have an understanding of the political environment and how local authorities function.
You will have a good understanding of the legal framework in which local authorities operate
