St Helens Borough Council are inviting applications for a post within its Legal Services Team. If you are the successful candidate, you will have a flexible approach to problem solving, demonstrating sound judgement and the capability to provide outcome focussed legal advice. You will be organised, an excellent communicator and an effective team member. In providing legal services to the Council’s client departments, the post holder will be dealing with a range of legal work across the wide spectrum of local authority functions.

The successful candidate will ideally have a minimum of 2 years’ post qualification experience and will have substantial knowledge of commercial property law, plus significant experience of dealing with a wide range of property transactions. You will be confident in giving advice to officers at a senior level and you will be able to work independently and manage a varied workload. It is anticipated that the holder of the post will play a key role on various multi-agency project teams, which will be established to deliver a variety of projects as part of the Council’s commitment to growing the economy.

In accordance with the Council’s new Way of Working Policy, the post holder will be required to work in an agile-hybrid way, working predominantly from home.
