St Helens Borough Council are inviting applications for a post within its Legal Services Team. If you are the successful candidate, you will have a flexible approach to problem solving, demonstrating sound judgement and the capability to deal with unexpected situations.

You will be organised, an excellent communicator and an effective team member. In return, we offer an interesting but demanding role in a friendly and supportive environment.

In providing legal services to the Council’s People’s Services client department, the successful candidate will be dealing with all aspects of Adult social care work, including, but not limited to, proceedings before the Court of Protection, including undertaking your own advocacy, ordinary residence and funding disputes, complaints ( including dealing with complaints that proceed to the Ombudsman), Trusts, Deprivation of Liberty applications, MCA queries, Judicial Review and Nearest relative displacement. You will also be required to provide training on changes in legislation and important case law to the client team and colleagues.
